Summer is almost here! With final exams coming up and many people ready to be out for the summer most can’t wait for it to be over with. Many people have vacations and lots of fun activities planned for the summer. This summer is almost a week and a half shorter than most and that has many students unhappy. Hopefully the summer will seem to last forever! The beach the, the mountains, small towns, and big cities all are calling people’s names to be done with school and just relax and have fun! So open your pool, head to the lake and get on out there and let the fun roll!
This past week the Crusaders varsity boys pulled out a 7-1 W over Upstate Homeschool. Thomas Lowry pitched a complete game and had many plays that came right back at him. The team hit, arguably, the best they’ve hit all season, as far as getting on base and driving runs in, not leaving people on base. The Crusaders prepare to now face Newberry possibly on Friday over spring break, due to weather conditions. With rival school Newberry coming up the Crusaders hope to be better prepared to face them than last time. Thomas Lowry should be starting on the mound, Newberry’s pitcher is unknown as of now.
Come on out tonight as we cheer on our Crusaders at their last varsity football game of the season. We will also be recognizing our senior football player and cheerleaders. Dawson Foster has played football throughout his middle school and high school career and intends to go out with a win. The senior cheerleaders are: Kerington Armstrong, Lindsey Burroughs, and Florence Mitchell. Each of these girls have spent a number of years cheering the Crusaders along the sidelines. Like Dawson they play multiple sports and excel in the classroom. It will be a sad departure tonight, but know they will do great things in their futures. We wish them the best of luck, so join us at 6:30 for kick off of the Tri-County game. Also at half time the elementary boys will have a flag football game. We hope to see you soon!
Baseball season can’t come fast enough for some of us. If you aren’t involved in any fall sports right now, join us in our preseason practices. We can hit the cages or throw a bullpen. This is a great opportunity for those interested in a new position. This will hopefully give you time to sharpen your skills and prove you deserve to play there. There will be plenty of open spots and no one out there has a locked position. The only place that is locked for anyone is the place you give the effort to play. If you’ve never played before, come on out and try it. You never know you might be the new all-star!
